Tuition and tuition refund

Deferral

An International student who applies to Calgary Flight Training Centre, but is unable to attend, must re-apply “if” the study permit (visa) issued by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) does not adequately cover the time period expected for the student to complete the course/s.

Any student who defers may need to re-apply in order to have Calgary Flight Training Centre re-issue documents for submission to Citizenship and Immigration Canada in order to obtain a new visa.

A Student who wishes to defer enrollment from the in-take to which he/she was accepted forfeits the admission fee of $500.00 NRF (Non-Refundable Admission Fee).

Refund policy:

When students officially inform Calgary Flight Training Centre of their desire to withdraw from their current or future course, Calgary Flight Training Centre does not refund the Admission fee of Can$500.00 NRF (Non-Refundable Fee) and Can$700.00 NRF (Non-Refundable Administrative fee).

 When student enrolled and pay some amount, the following rules may apply

A refund of an international student’s tuition fees will be paid to the student, individual or organization that originally paid the tuition.

  • If payment was received by credit card, the fees will be credited back to the same credit card.
  • If payment was made by cheque, the fees will be refunded to the issuer of the cheque.

The refund to which a student is entitled, is calculated on the total tuition fees due under the contract.  When total tuition fees have not yet been collected, Calgary Flight Training Centre is not responsible for refunding more than has been collected to date and a student may be required to pay for monies due under the contract.

If Calgary Flight Training Centre has received fees in excess of the amount, the amount must be refunded.

If a student does not attend any of the first 30% of the hours of instruction to be provided during the contract term, Calgary Flight Training Centre may retain up to 50% of the tuition paid under the student enrollment contract.

If the student provides a notice of withdrawal to Calgary Flight Training Centre or Calgary Flight Training Centre provides a notice of dismissal to the student, the school will refund fees charged for course materials that was paid but not received

Refunds required under this policy will be paid to the student or to the person or organization that paid the tuition and fees on behalf of the student, within 30 days:

The student must submit a request for a refund in writing, on email to info@calgaryflight.com or in person at Calgary Flight Training Centre located at Olds-Didsbury Airport, 423-1436 Township Road 320, Olds, AB T4H1T8

Study Permit Denial refund (visa refusal):

Calgary Flight Training Centre does not refund the Admission fee of $500.00

Withdrawals prior to the training course start date:

A student wishing to withdraw from a training course may do so after discussion with the Chief Flight instructor, advising of the reason for the withdrawal.   Refund will be calculated as per Calgary Flight Training Centre refund policy based on student withdrawing prior to 10% of the period of instruction training specified in the contract having elapsed; therefore, Calgary Flight Training Centre may retain 30% of the tuition due under the contract.

  • Students must request an official withdrawal in writing, or email to info@calgaryflight.comor in person at Calgary Flight Training Centre at Olds-Didsbury Airport, 423-1436 Township Road 320, Olds, AB T4H1T8 by the intake date on their Letter of Acceptance.

Withdrawal or Dismissal after the training course start date:

A student wishing to withdraw from a training course may do so after discussion with the Chief Flight instructor, advising of the reason for the withdrawal.   Refund will be calculated as per Calgary Flight Training Centre refund policy described below:

  • If written notice of withdrawal is receiving by Calgary Flight Training Centre or if the student is dismissed before 10% of the period of instruction training specified in the contract has elapsed, Calgary Flight Training Centre may retain 30% of the tuition & fees due under the student enrollment contract.
  • If written notice of withdrawal is receive by Calgary Flight Training Centre, or if the student is dismissed after 10% but before 30% of the time specified in the training program contract has elapsed, Calgary Flight Training Centre may retain 50% of the tuition & fees due under the student enrollment contract.
  • If written notice of withdrawal is received by Calgary Flight Training Centre, or if the student is dismissed after 30% but before 50%of the hours of instruction have been provided during the contract term, Calgary Flight Training Centre may retain up to 70% of the tuition & fees due under the student enrollment contract.
  • If written notice of withdrawal is received by Calgary Flight Training Centre, or if the student is dismissed after 50% but before 70%of the hours of instruction have been provided during the contract term, Calgary Flight Training Centre may retain up to 90% of the tuition & fees due under the student enrollment contract.
  • If written notice of withdrawal is received by Calgary Flight Training Centre, or if the student is dismissed after 70% of the hours of instruction have been provided during the contract term, Calgary Flight Training Centre will retain 100% of the tuition & fees due under the student enrollment contract.
  • Students must submit an official request for withdrawal in writing to info@calgaryflight.com or in person at Olds-Didsbury Airport, 423-1436 Township Road 320, Olds, AB T4H1T8
  • Students who do not officially withdraw and stop attending the program will not be issued a refund.

Dismissals:

Calgary Flight Training Centre will provide written notice to the student advising that the student has been dismissed from the training course.

The written notice of dismissal may be delivered in any manner provided that a receipt or other verification is available that indicates the date on which the notice is delivered. The notice of dismissal is deemed to be effective from the date it is delivered.
